RFAVQ Mission
The Regroupement pour la formation en audiovisuel du Québec (RFAVQ) is the training mutual of the audiovisual sector whose mandate is to structure, develop and organize training adapted to the characteristics and needs of its workers, thanks to the mutualization of the contributions of employers subject to the Act to promote Workforce Skills Development and Recognition. Common operating rules, including combined services, originated from this mutualisation.
The RFAVQ plays a part in concertation and strategic planning regarding the workers' training needs. This concertation allows the realization of the training needs studies, which provides a global view of the sector, the recuperation of the contribution of those producers subjected to the law, and the implementation of common rules.
Through this network, the RFAVQ offers its members training management support which contributes to a better coordination of expertise and resources. This regrouping furthers the development of a training offer that contributes to its efficiency. Thus, the RFAVQ responds to the common needs of the sector and encourages members' collaboration.
History
Previously a body collector, the RFAVQ emerged in 2002 from the concerted action of the Association des producteurs de films et de télévision du Québec (APFTQ) and the Alliance québécoise des techniciens de l'image et du son (AQTIS), with the support of the Conseil québécois des resources humaines en culture (CQRHC).
Since its recognition as a training mutual, July 23, 2008, the RFAVQ has widened its activities to the whole audiovisual sector, now gathering 14 associations of employer and worker members. So far, the mutual has offered 322 training sessions to 2993 workers.
The training programs are made possible due to the employers' contribution to the mutual as well as the financial support of the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail (CPMT).
Together let us enhance the quality of our audiovisual production!
